PalatinaSEARCH unites the catalogue descriptions of the Palatina manuscripts held at Heidelberg University Library and the Biblioteca Apostolica Vaticana as well as the bibliographic metadata for around 13.000 prints, called the „Stampati Palatini“
PalatinaSEARCH allows, among other things, searches for contexts of origin, codicological or palaeographic facts, but also specific searches for previous owners, authors, works, initials or for a differentiated subject indexing of the texts
Currently, the description data from the printed manuscript descriptions of Cod. Pal. germ. 1-670 (Heidelberg University Library catalogues 6-9) are fully searchable in PalatinaSEARCH, the descriptions of Cod. Pal. germ. 671-848 (Heidelberg University Library catalogues 12) will be completed soon.
The metadata from four of the manuscript catalogues of the Palatini latini (Heidelberg University Library catalogues 1-4) published in print to date have been retrospectively incorporated into the database. The description data originating from the current cataloguing project will also be made searchable in PalatinaSEARCH during the term of the project and in a timely manner.
The database is realized with the software Koha and is hosted by the Bibliotheksservice-Zentrum Baden-Württemberg (BSZ). It is still under construction and will be continuously expanded.
