TITLE HISTORY A title history is the publication history of a journal and includes a listing of the family of related journals. The most common relationship is to a previous and/or continuing title, where a journal continues publishing with a change to its official title. Other common relationships include a journal that is a supplement to another journal, a journal that is absorbed into another journal, a journal that splits into two or more new journals, or two or more journals that merge to form a new journal. Folia Geobotanica is a journal devoted to geobotany/plant ecology and plant systematics. Its primary focus is on plant species in a structured environment.

Its focal areas are:

(a) comparative vegetation studies
(b) patterns and processes in vegetation
(c) links between systematics and vegetation science
(d) experimental taxonomy

The journal publishes both observational and experimental papers; papers are required to adopt the comparative approach. Even long papers are considered, provided they contain monographical treatment difficult to publish elsewhere. It also regularly publishes reviews of books in botany and plant ecology.
