Switzerland has deposited its instrument of ratification of the Strasbourg Convention of 2012 on the limitation of liability in inland navigation (CLNI 2012). Ambassador Claude Wild, the Swiss Permanent Representative to the Council of Europe, deposited the instrument. The ratification instrument was deposited on 23 April 2024, at the Palais du Rhin in Strasbourg.
The new CCNR analysis answers the following questions “How to ensure a more reliable and more efficient inland container barge handling in seaports? And how to improve inland waterway transport to and from the Rhine hinterland?”

The European inland navigation sector is facing a significant labour shortage. This shortage could jeopardise the ambitious goals of modal shift in favour of this mode of transport. With this in mind, the CCNR organised a workshop reflecting on the labour market and its appeal.
