About the Journal

Journal of System Safety (JSS) is a peer-reviewed, open access, zero-publication fees scholarly journal published by the International System Safety Society. The journal has been in continuous publication since 1965.

JSS encourages the development and dissemination of original research of system safety knowledge for the benefit of all humankind. JSS fosters the professional development of those engaged in safety activities and fosters open communication among safety professionals, academic researchers, and diverse organizations. JSS strives to advance the state of the art in the theory and practice of system safety engineering, management, and standards. For further information, please review the journal's Aims and Scope.

Editors

The editor-in-chief of JSS is Dr. Charles Muniak.  The journal is guided by an editorial board comprised of system safety experts drawn from diverse backgrounds in both industry and academia. For more information, please view our Editorial Staff page.
