Although the change in the electoral system used in elections to the Chamber of Deputies has attracted the attention of lawyers, political scientists, and sociologists, we still lack a comprehensive comparative analysis of the new system with the original one or other alternatives. Violence against disabled people has recently been recognised as an important, albeit neglected research topic. Drawing attention to violence motivated by anti-disability bias, this article offers an introduction to research on disablist hate crime. According to Aristotle, democracy and oligarchy are empirically the most widespread and analytically fundamental ‘constitutions’. I analyse how in different places in his Aristotle ‘positively’ defines and differentiates between democracy and oligarchy.
